QWEST PIONEERS MEETING
April 15, 2009
The meeting was called to order by JoAnn Cooper at 10:09 a.m. Pioneer members present were Barb Cane, Olga Stanley, Don Fennessy, John Warren, Char Reno, JoAnn Cooper, and Nancy Eilefson.
Financial Report – Motion by Nancy with a second by Char to transfer $500 from our general fund to our charitable fund. Motion passed. We discussed our finances. Barb will work on getting our books up to date.
Life Member Report – There is a luncheon today. Attendance has been low. We will get plants for decorations and door prizes for the Pioneer Social. We need a list of people (and their addresses) who need rides to the luncheons so arrangements can be made.
Hug a Bear Report – 25 bears were given to Lake Superior Life Care Center. Don will take some with him.
Chapter Update – Nothing at this time.
Other – We made $269 at the soup and grilled cheese sandwich lunch. JoAnn is still working on getting door access cards for Don, John, and Bill. Nancy did email Bill’s picture to Denver. Barb will take the dishes from the kitchen. We plan to meet at 11:00 a.m. on April 18 to clean the kitchen.
We discussed the need to get our “name” out there. The Pioneers are not too well known in the Duluth area. We need to do a better job of reporting our events to the newspaper. We will have a breakfast fundraiser on Wednesday, May 13, from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. French toast, sausage and orange juice will be served.
The meeting adjourned at 11:00 a.m.
