QWEST PIONEERS MEETING
August 25, 2010
The meeting was called to order by JoAnn Cooper at 10:05 a.m. Pioneer members present were John Warren, Don Fennessy, Bill Carlson, JoAnn Cooper, Nancy Eilefson, and Betty Lee. Don’s granddaughter Jenna was also at the meeting.
Financial Report – Peter Thibault is doing an audit on our books. We agreed, by consensus, to donate $200.00 for Prepared to Learn backpacks.
Life Member Report – Durbin Keeney will be at the September meeting. We will invite John Stanoch to come to a meeting. Nancy will send the email.
Hug a Bear Report – St. Luke’s still wants 20 bears each month. Cloquet Hospital declined our offer of bears.
Chapter Update – The meeting is set for September 10 but as of this meeting, the location for the Chapter meeting is still not set. JoAnn will call the Carlton VFW again. Dave Hemmer is following up on the antique telephone truck. They are looking for a garage to store it. Nancy received thank you notes from Grant School. She will give them to Dave at the September meeting.
Other – We still need July Spirit of Service ride hours. Dick Jonland passed away; a card was sent to Diane.
NEW BUSINESS: Motion by Nancy with a second by Betty to transfer $100.00 from the general account to the charitable account and donate it to First Witness. Motion passed. JoAnn will order cookbooks.
The meeting adjourned at 10:59 a.m.
