Hello fellow Pioneers:
I just wanted to let you know that Yes --- we're still around. We all made it through this very non-Minnesota winter. I sure loved the mild weather and no snow. It made getting around so much easier and of course no shoveling.
If you haven't heard we have a new name. Since CenturyLink choose not to support the Pioneers anymore, Pioneer groups (like ours) in traditional Qwest 14 state territory are now known as Legacy West Pioneers. I like it!
We'll continue to have activities and events as long as you participate and support our efforts. Our mission is still to reach out in our communities by our volunteer activities, either individually or as organized Pioneer teams. Some of our organized activities include our Hug a Bear group, which still meets every month making bears for Metro emergency ambulance services – we always can use new members, call me if interested. Plus we have a couple of dates reserved at the Ronald McDonald house to prepare and serve a meal. Pat Jeukens heads up that effort and welcomes your inquiries. And of course we have our fellowship opportunities – luncheon meetings and fund raising casino trips, check out the flyers for upcoming events.
If you volunteer individually in your community (food shelf, library, Meals on Wheels, etc.) we would still like to know the volunteer hours you put in. Either call/email me or Joanne Kennedy (763-522-3206 or email@example.com) to report your volunteer hours. Just let us know what activity you performed and number of hours you volunteered.
I hope we'll see you at the April lunch and/or the May Casino trip.
