QWEST PIONEERS AND FRIENDS BRIGHTEN VETERAN’S HOME DAYROOM

QWEST PIONEER VOLUNTEERS BRIGHTEN VETERANS HOME DAYROOMS

On June 14, a group of Qwest Telecom Pioneers led by Metro Life Member Club president Bob Clark have gathered with paint, brushes and enthusiasm to put a fresh coat of paint on two dayrooms at the Minneapolis Veterans Home.  The dayrooms are used by the full-time residents to visit with family and friends, play cards and watch television.

As the painters went about their work, residents kept an eye on the progress.  They gave a “thumbs up” to the volunteers who left the dayrooms with a brighten, fresher appearance.

Vets Home staff treated the volunteers to lunch at mid-day.

The Telecom Pioneers are the largest industry based volunteer group of active and retirees from communication companies.  Qwest is the sponsor of the Minnesota Pioneers who dedicate their time and talents to worthwhile community service projects where they live and work.
