QWEST PIONEERS MEETING
ARROWHEAD COUNCIL
May 26, 2010

The meeting was called to order by JoAnn Cooper at 10:03 a.m. Pioneer members present were Don Fennessy, Char Reno, JoAnn Cooper, and Nancy Eilefson.

OLD BUSINESS:
Financial Report – No report.
Life Member Report – Motion by Don with a second by Char to transfer $100 from general to charitable and send it to Let’s Go Fishing Duluth – the group that spoke at the Pioneer Life Member Luncheon. Motion passed.
Hug a Bear Report – No report.
Chapter Update – Pat will bring Readers for Life books up with her on June 2 for Grant and Nettleton Schools. She plans to also attend the Pioneer Social. Others will be traveling with her.
Other – JoAnn found a good deal on a new refrigerator. Because this was already in our budget we agreed, by consensus, to have her purchase it. JoAnn will order food for 75 for the Social.

NEW BUSINESS: Nancy sent a sympathy card to Phil Oja’s family

Our next board meeting is June 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Pioneer Lounge, Fourth Floor Melrose Building in Duluth. All Pioneers and guests are welcome. We meet the 4th Wednesday of each month.

The “Spirit of Service” ride will be July 17, 2010. Chapter meetings are scheduled for June 11th in St. Cloud, September 10th in Duluth, and December 10th (place not confirmed).

There were 19 Pioneers, Partners, and guests at the Life Member Luncheon. A representative from Let’s Go Fishing Duluth spoke about this organization. They offer free fishing and boating excursions for seniors. The next Life Member Luncheon will be June 16, our last for the summer. All are welcome; reservations are necessary.

We meet at 10:00 a.m. on the first and third Monday of each month to work on Hug a Bears or other projects. Call Nancy at 624-0031 or Char at 879-2552 with questions. Please feel free to join us.
