NEWS AND MEETINGS
Bemidji
Sue Burlingame and girls meet each month to make
Hug-A-Bears, quilts, or lap robes.
There are from 6 to 18 gals who meet at the central office in Bemidji.
On the first Wednesday of each month we meet for lunch at a restaurant of our
choice, usually
about 12 to 18 ladies attend.
Many of us do nursing home visits, meals on wheels, food shelf, & community
service volunteering each month.
We also have a group of 4 or 5 who install Life Lines when needed.
In May we have a spring luncheon with about 45 people attending.
We donate $100.00 each to food shelves & churches united for Christmas.
We also sell Pioneer Calendars and have 3 winners as of March 1st this year.

Brainerd
Gene Durham heads up the Brainerd group.
6 to 40 Pioneers meet each month at Bonanza restaurant for lunch.
The Brainerd group volunteers at food shelves, calendar selling, meals on
wheels,
Santa Claus Helpers, nursing homes & life lines.
They have a Christmas luncheon with usually about 15 members attending.
This year their Christmas contribution of $200.00 went to the Salvation Army.
Detroit Lakes & Wadena
Lois Thielan in Detroit Lakes and JoAnn Thurston in
Wadena
keep these two towns doing their activities together.
They sell Calendars, and volunteer with meals on wheels, nursing homes, jail
education, and Life Lines.
They have a Spring Luncheon that's attended by 45 - 60 Pioneers.
In the spring they plant flowers in parks & do roadway clean-up.
Wadena's Christmas donation of $100.00 went to the area food shelf & $100.00 to
Hospice.
Detroit Lakes Christmas donation is still pending as of March 1st.
Fergus Falls
Gert Obowa (Treasure) & Jean Sanco take care of
sending out our Councils Birthday,
Get Well, & Sympathy cards. They do a great job keeping our card sending
up to date.
Fergus Falls Pioneers meet once a month for lunch with 6 - 12 attendees.
They have a spring luncheon and at Christmas they have a pie social.
They sell Calendars & volunteer at nursing homes, food shelves, & life lines.
Their Christmas donation of $200.00 went to the Salvation Army.
Thief River Falls
Jerry Moyer is the go to person for the Thief River
Falls Pioneers.
Jerry sells calendars and installs Life Lines.
Thief River has a luncheon once a year and 12 - 20 Pioneers attend.
Their Christmas contribution of $200.00 went to area food shelves.
